Kennedy Theatre Company presents ‘The Little Mermaid’

Kennedy Theatre Company will present Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” at 7 p.m. Oct. 24-26 and 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Kennedy High School auditorium, 9701 Nicollet Ave. S.

Based on the 1989 Disney animated film of the same name, the show follows mermaid Ariel’s pursuit of a life on land and love with the human Prince Eric. After a bargain with evil sea witch Ursula to trade her voice for legs, Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea.

The show features more than 60 Kennedy students as cast and crew under the direction of Dohn Thibault and assistant director Claire Zinda with musical direction by Nikki Goulet Jordan, orchestra direction and choreography by Katherin Gorr, costumes by Laurie Clements, sound design by Josh Fremder and lighting design by Zach Horn and Jonathan Engebretson.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors and are available at the door 30 minutes prior to each show. For the Oct. 27 performance, $25 family passes are available for up to five family members.

A free preview performance for seniors will be held Thursday, Oct. 24 at 9:30 a.m.
